Welcome to the Three Phase Electricity Specialist’s website.  We hope you will find our articles on Soft Start Drives informative and helpful.  Our organization specializes in the review of electrical motor equipment so that we can better educate the public in finding quality manufacturers and products.  Three Phase Electricity Specialist is a non-profit organization, and our goal is help consumers make wiser decisions when selecting the right equipment for their operation requirements.

Our recent study on Soft Start Drives rates manufacturers on the quality of materials used in producing their products, on their reputation for being a reliable manufacturer and the kind of warranties they offer.  We also look for excellence in customer service, making  sure that manufacturers have professional engineering staffs that are knowledgeable and use the latest state-of-the-art technology.

In reviewing our articles on soft start drives, you will be more informed as to what drive is best suited for your particular needs.  We will provide information that will help determine if a soft start drive is the right choice for the operation of your machinery and application requirements, or would a variable frequency drive be more beneficial.

Soft start drives start motors at lower voltages, and then slowly ramp the motor to operation voltage levels.  If you don’t have to vary the speed of your motor during operation,  a soft start drive would be the right solution.  They are dependable and less expensive than variable frequency drives.

Variable frequency drives also start motors at lower voltages bringing voltage to operating speeds.  However, during operation, if your motor requires its speed to be varied, a variable frequency drive would be the correct choice.  These devices control the rotational speed of alternating currents in electrical motors and help eliminate wear on gears, chains sprockets and gearboxes.  Variable frequency drives are more expensive.  If you don’t need to have varying speeds while operating motors, the soft start drive would be the most cost effective for your job requirements.

                                  In the Three Phase Electricity
